How does real software run in a browser with no servers?

Demoshell is built on a WebAssembly virtual machine that emulates a full Linux environment inside the browser tab. Your Docker image is converted into a streamed disk snapshot; the visitor's browser pulls only the blocks it needs from a CDN. All computation happens on the visitor's machine.

Best fit today: products that ship as reasonably lightweight Linux containers — Go, Rust, C, and Node-based servers and tools, with or without a web UI. Heavy JVM stacks are on the roadmap. The free demo build is how we tell you honestly whether yours fits.

Each demo instance runs sandboxed inside the browser's own security model, isolated from the visitor's machine and from your infrastructure. There is no shared server to attack and no customer data on our side: we host only your public software snapshot and anonymous analytics.

What happens when a visitor's session ends?

It evaporates. Closing the tab destroys the instance. The next visitor boots a fresh one from the snapshot. Nothing persists, nothing is shared between visitors.

What do you actually host?

Two things: your nightly demo snapshots on a CDN, and the analytics/lead-capture backend. Your product never runs on our servers — or anyone's.

Does it work on mobile?

Demos run best on desktop browsers, where your evaluators are anyway. On phones (and on pages that cannot boot the demo inline) the embed shows a "Launch demo" card that opens the full-page demo on our site, so nobody ever sees a broken box.

We already have a hosted demo / cloud trial. Why this?

Those live behind a signup. Demoshell lives where evaluation actually starts — your README, your docs, your homepage — and works for the anonymous majority who never click "start trial." It feeds that trial, not replaces it.
